INTERIOR DESION PROJECTS 3: PROJECT 2A: PROMOTIONAL KIOSK

In this project, we were required to produce a design for a collapsible kiosk that was meant to promote the curative retreat centre that we design in the final project. The project is done working in the the same group of 4 as the first project.

We design the kiosk along with a brand for our curative retreat centre, and some corporate identity systems with it as well. The requirements for the kiosk is that it has to be collapsible as it is a temporary kiosk. So we had to design it in a way that it was easy to set up and easy to disassemble.

I worked on producing the powerpoint slide and the presentation board for the project. I also helped in the development of idea and design of the kiosk design as well as the collapsible methods.

INTERIOR DESION PROJECTS 3: PROJECT 3: CURATIVE RETREAT CENTRE

This project is about design a curative retreat centre based on the projects that were done previously. For this project I have to design a meditation and spa centre for working adults that are stressed. The design for this project was based on style of modern luxury.

INTERIOR DESION PROJECTS 3: PROJECT 2B: SITE ANALYSIS

In this project we were taken to the site of our potential curative retreat centre. We were required to make observations and take measurements of the site to bring back and produce a presentation slide of the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, as well as the technical drawings.

For this project I produced the plan drawings for the first floor and ground floor of the site.

INTERIOR DESION PROJECTS 3: PROJECT 1: RESEARCH AND FINDINGS

This project is the basis that would lead to our final project of the semester that is to design a curative retreat centre. In this project we were grouped into a group of 4 people and were required to research on a given topic and present it in video medium.

The topic given to us was cerebral. For this topic, we had to research on the meaning of the word, along with the issues and the services that a curative retreat would provide for the issue.

For this project, I was tasked with the preparation of the video that was given. I compiled and edited the images and videos that were taken from the Internet and placed information into one cohesive video.

VIDEO EDITING AND PRODUCTION SEMESTER 4: FINAL PROJECT SHOOTING AND VIDEO

For the final project in the course, we were required to work in a group of 3 to produce a video based on a storyboard one of the members have written. For the video, it was based on my storyboard about depression.

The role that was assigned to me was the director of the video. I was tasked with ensuring the scenes go according to the storyboard as well as directing the actors and the scenes as well as the set up. Overall, I was tasked with leading the group in performing the video shooting.

Among the few challenges that were faced while producing this video is the space constraints of the setting, being in a small room. Another challenge faced was the lighting when shooting outdoors in the corridor scene.

VIDEO EDITING AND PRODUCTION SEMESTER 4: VIDEO IDEA PROPOSAL

This task is for the video assignment for Khind video competition. For this we are supposed to come up with a video to promote the brand to a younger target audience. In this assignment, we are instructed to work in a group of 6.

Our idea for this video is based on the concept of Khind being a reliable guide to the main character, which is the younger target audience. The storyline for the video starts with the main character leaving home, setting is at the bus stop. And he/she would be saying farewell to his family members as he leaves to another state for work. Later on, there would be a voice over narration that would be guiding him as he performs various household tasks, simulating that he's remembering what his mentor (could be a mother or father or whichever parental figure) is telling him to do. Then at the end, he would be seen calling that person up and expressing his gratitude in giving him such information.

The concept for this video is showcasing the reliability of the brand, and being an old brand in the market, that could be beneficial to the younger market as they are more reliable and have a quality that they can depend on. Giving them an ease from worry as they transition in their life from childhood to adulthood.

VIDEO EDITING AND PRODUCTION SEMESTER 4: REPRESENTATION MUSIC PART 2

The song relates to me because it's about the ups and downs of life, and for me I have went through phases where I was depressed before. And it makes me who I am today. The chorus relates to me when I went through the phase, people telling me that things will go away, but to me it sounds like they're telling me to get over it. The other part of the chorus it states that the singer will always be there, which is what I would do, because I'm not really good at comforting people that are down, but I'll always be there for those if they need me.

Often times, people won't say things that they need to hear, but things they want to hear. Like if someone is failing an exam, people would be like "there's always next time, don't worry". But for me I prefer to tell them to "buck up and work harder" because that's what they need to push themselves. They're just giving themselves excuses most of the time, by saying they can't. By telling the truth, they will obviously be mad, but in the long run will realise that what was said is true and they really do need to pick themself up and push harder to reach their goal.

VIDEO EDITING AND PRODUCTION SEMESTER 4: REPRESENTATION MUSIC

The song that I have chosen for this task is The Great Escape by P!nk. The song is the artist's album The Truth About Love. The original meaning of the song by the artist is roughly about emotions, having highs and lows and owning those emotions.

For me the song speaks to me because it relates to me personally. And parts of it to me have a meaning of being honest with yourself and saying things as it is, because in this world there are a lot of things that are done behind people's backs. So for me, I prefer to be upfront about things rather than going in a roundabout manner, like the saying goes "the truth hurts".

DETAILING AND WORK DRAWINGS SEMESTER 3: INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

We were required to prepare a measured drawing report based on a site given to us, which is the 3K Sports Complex in Subang Jaya. Forming a group of 4, we were required to produce a report and drawings of the site based on what we have obeserved and measured there.

For the project, I am tasked with doing the report. The workload of the task is divided between me and Dickson. I did some parts of the report, including introduction, local climates, vegetation, man-made features, sensory, structural wall type, opening, interior materials, air conditioning, and building transportation systems.

I also helped out with the drawing by double-checking on any errors that we might have made, and also keeping the whole team on track with the work and deadline.

DETAILING AND WORK DRAWINGS SEMESTER 3: SINGAPORE TRIP ASSIGNMENT

We had a class trip to Singapore to observe and study about the different architectures in Malaysia as well as to visit some sites that could be used for our projects. For the visit, we were required to identify anything that that uses the 3 types of joinery; they are welding, riveted and bolt and nut. We were asked to identify one of each from our visit in Singapore.

DETAILING AND WORK DRAWINGS SEMESTER 3: ASSEMBLY DRAWING: REVISION

We were required to produce a set of drawings with details and specification based on a furniture assembly drawing that we have acquired. The initial work was done and submitted. After that, there was a peer evaluation, where classmates were required to give comments on the errors that we have done in our drawings. From there, we had to produce a new drawing of the part that we did with the amendments.

For this task, we were required to perform an observational detailing of 3 furniture; a chair, table and storage. We were told to search for each of the furniture from stores and record our findings including the dimensions, materials and specification. The 3 furniture that were chosen were found in IKEA, as it was one of the locations that were given to us to perform our observational detailing task.

DETAILING AND WORK DRAWINGS SEMESTER 3: TASK 2: DETAILED SPECIFICATION

For this exercise, we have been taught on the methods of writing out specifications for furniture that we designed. The specifications needed to be detailed as it allows the manufacturer or contractor to be able to understand what it is we wish to produce in terms of size as well as materials used.
