The song relates to me because it's about the ups and downs of life, and for me I have went through phases where I was depressed before. And it makes me who I am today. The chorus relates to me when I went through the phase, people telling me that things will go away, but to me it sounds like they're telling me to get over it. The other part of the chorus it states that the singer will always be there, which is what I would do, because I'm not really good at comforting people that are down, but I'll always be there for those if they need me.
Often times, people won't say things that they need to hear, but things they want to hear. Like if someone is failing an exam, people would be like "there's always next time, don't worry". But for me I prefer to tell them to "buck up and work harder" because that's what they need to push themselves. They're just giving themselves excuses most of the time, by saying they can't. By telling the truth, they will obviously be mad, but in the long run will realise that what was said is true and they really do need to pick themself up and push harder to reach their goal.
