INTRODUCTION TO INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS: FINAL PROJECT

The final project for the semester for Introduction to Interior Design Projects, as well as the final review of all our works. The final project was based on the theme survival. We were supposed to design a survival pod for our "client" (a partner we chose from classmates), on Redang Island, as well as creating a scenario for his condition on being stranded on the island.

My story was about my partner being a prisoner, who managed to escape from a ship that was transferring him to a different facility. From there he drifted onto the island where it was uninhabited. There, he found out that there was a demon on the island and the only place that he could be safe was out in the sea. Thus, he built his pod out on the sea. This became my background for the concept of my survival pod.

The pod was designed with the idea of a clam shell in mind, because I wanted it to be a protective shelter for my partner. And to build the shape and the structure of the pod, I referred to the shape and technology of a coracle (a traditional fishing boat).

Final review of all projects.
